Training Tip No. 3: Keep It Short

Be sure to keep lessons short so your puppy won’t get bored. Again, think about how bored you get if a lesson goes on and on. In time, your Lab (like you) will be able to concentrate for longer periods. Watch for signs of boredom and loss of attention—if your Lab is looking around at other things, that’s when you know it’s time to stop. Do the exercises in slightly different ways to keep him eager to learn. Remember, you don’t like to do the exact same things over and over, either!
